At Good Spores we grow gourmet mushrooms with care and supply nutritious food to the local West Auckland market. We constantly review our practices to improve efficiency and sustainability and meet the needs of our community.
The gourmet varieties of mushrooms we grow are highly nutritious and a good source of dietary macronutrients. Their textures offer particular benefit to vegans who seek meat substitutes. Additionally, their umami flavours elevate the flavour of meat and non-meat dishes which makes them interesting to foodies and chefs.
Our condiment recipes have been thoughtfully developed to elevate traditional recipes and offer low sugar alternatives to widely available condiments. They make it easy for cooks to incorporate mushrooms and other locally grown produce into their meals.
We use water captured on site in our mushroom growing endeavours, supplement our energy demands with solar power generated on site, use waste products such as pine sawdust in our growing and aim to minimise food waste by locking the nutrition of our mushrooms into our condiments at their peak freshness.
